The Nushagak River
Limited Access       Our Expert Guides       Quality Equipment

More Kings return to the Nushagak River than any other river in Alaska! Nushagak Kings range from 20 to 60 pounds. An average of over 200,000 Kings arrive in June and July, making the Nushagak a great place to experience Alaska's finest fishing vacation.

The Nush also plays host to tremendous runs of sockeye, chum and silver salmon and also has large resident populations of native rainbow trout, dolly varden, northern pike and arctic grayling.

Limited Access

Fly-in-only access keeps the Nushagak remote and pristine, preventing the crowds experienced on other rivers in Alaska. Our guests average 20-40 kings per boat, per day on the Nushagak River, 40+ fish days are common. Our camp is located a few miles above tidewater. This unique location gives you the chance to go wherever the fish are. One of the best holes on the Nush is right outside your tent! Most of the land on the lower Nushagak is native owned and managed. To preserve the natural quality of the Nushagak River, the Choggiung Ltd. Native Corporation prohibits the building of permanent structures and allows a very limited number of campsites along its banks. We accommodate 20 guests at a time to offer you the true Alaskan experience you've always dreamed of.
